Full-Time, Small Animal Associate Veterinarian

An Associate Veterinarian, is an animal doctor that is responsible for diagnosing and treating animals who are sick, injured or need routine care.  Their duties include giving advice to animal owners on how to properly care for their pets, administering medication and performing surgical procedures on the animals.

Here’s what you can expect to handle in this role on a routine basis:

  • Work closely with our clients and their pets
  • Provide patients with a high level of patient care while thoroughly working up cases
  • Excellent surgical techniques and dental skills
  • Capable of leading a team of technicians

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Have a strong work ethic, with the ability to work seamlessly as a team, as well as independently
  • Possess strong people skills, with a specialized focus on the quality of care that provides client satisfaction to the highest degree
  • Clear and effective communication, with both clients and fellow team members
  • A commitment to superior client services in all aspects of your job
  • Be respectful and courteous to all team members
  • Acute attention to detail in all procedures and treatments

Job requirements include:

  • License and be eligible to practice Veterinary Medicine in the state of Kentucky

Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician

As a licensed veterinary technician, you are responsible for performing routine checkups and other medical procedures on animals to ensure their health and well-being. Your duties include communicating with pet owners, checking an animal’s weight, heartbeat, and other vitals to record in patient files, and assisting other veterinary personnel in taking blood samples, IV catheters, surgery and administering medications.

Here’s what you can expect to handle in this role on a routine basis:

  • Work closely with clients and their pets
  • Provide patients with a high level of care and attention
  • Perform diagnostic tests and x-rays
  • Prepare animals and instruments for surgery
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
  • Provide emergency first aid or general nursing care
  • Observe and report on the behavior and condition of animals
  • Restrain animals for examination or treatment
  • Administer anesthesia and assist during medical procedures
  • Collect and record animal case histories
  • Educate animal owners on home care

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Associate degree in veterinary science
  • 2 years’ experience in small animal veterinary clinic, preferred

Full-Time Veterinary Assistant

As our veterinary assistant, you will help veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians by treating and caring for animals. Your duties include recording health information about animals, helping to administer treatments, and providing food and water to animals.

Here’s what you can expect to handle in this role on a routine basis:

  • Feeding and providing water to animals at regular intervals throughout the day
  • Sterilizing equipment and regularly cleaning examination areas
  • Handling and soothing animals during examinations, treatments, and vaccinations
  • Recording relevant information about animals, including weight and types of medication given
  • Advising owners of pets about caring for their animals at home

To be successful in this role you will need to:
