We’re celebrating a big win today for one of the bravest, happiest pups we know—August!
Just 8 weeks ago, August underwent his second TPLO surgery and today, thanks to expert orthopedic care from our team and the loving dedication of his incredible family, he’s officially received the all-clear from Dr. Grimes!
This isn’t August’s first rodeo—his other knee was repaired back in December 2023. When the second one gave out, his family was heartbroken. As his mom shared:
“When he blew his other knee, I was heartbroken. But August has such a big heart and he loves to ‘guard’ our perimeter. We just couldn’t think of not doing what was best for him. We probably have 2-5 more years with him and wanted them to be as full as his first 10.”
Thanks to their decision to move forward with surgery again, August is back to living his best life.
“August is now back to his cheerful self and greeting all our visitors. After he finishes his sniff inspection, they are allowed to enter. He’s not quite up to running the fence yet, because he just now got his final ok 2 months after surgery. We anticipate his ‘saving’ us from the neighborhood cows and people who leave packages very soon.”
Recovery wasn’t instant—but with love, patience, and a great care plan, it worked.
“August loves the walks we take post-surgery. We followed the plan that Doc Grimes suggested: 5 minutes increasing to 20 minutes in weeks 4–8.”
