Voted Best Pet Groomer of 2020
We're thrilled to be voted Best Pet Groomer of 2020! It's a pleasure for us to care for your pet, inside and out!
At Southcentral Veterinary Services in Bowling Green, grooming isn’t just about pampering your pet (though we can certainly do that!), it’s about improving their health by improving their hygiene. Keeping clean will absolutely leave your pet looking sharp and smelling even better, but most of all, they’ll feel comfortable in their own skin. Our cat and dog grooming services help to prevent the buildup of loose hair, dead skin cells, oil, and dirt, which can increase your pet’s risk for skin irritation and possible infection.

What’s Included in Cat and Dog Grooming?
Our cat and dog groomer is skilled at keeping pets clean while also helping them feel more relaxed. Grooming can be stressful for first timers but we provide a gentle touch and soothing words to make the environment as stress-free as possible.
Services include:
Regular baths are important for preventing the buildup of oil, skin cells, loose hair, and dirt, and maintaining the skin barrier. They also give your pet’s coat a healthy shine. During your pet’s bath, we can also get a closer look at their skin to check for lumps, bumps, scabs, or parasites.
Do you have a certain type of haircut in mind for your pet? Our groomer can provide a variety of breed-standard haircuts to help dogs look their best.
Dematting is necessary for pets with medium to long hair that can become tangled over time. These “mats” pull at the skin, causing pain and irritation, and often harbor dead skin, dirt, and possibly parasites. A matted coat can affect your pet’s quality of life, so don’t hesitate to contact us if your dog or cat needs some help.
Our cat grooming services are less diverse than our dog grooming services, but can include dematting, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and shaving.
We offer a variety of safe, medicated shampoos for pets, which can help with skin disorders, allergies, and other health concerns.
Some dogs need to have their anal glands “expressed” from time to time to stay clean and comfortable. We’re more than happy to help with that.
Overgrown nails are prone to chipping/breakage and fungal infections, and can cause injury to your pet! In some cases, it can also affect the posture and gait. If you’re not comfortable trimming your pet’s nails yourself, give us a call!
Does My Pet Need Their Vaccines to be Groomed?
To keep our hospital and pet grooming facility a safe and healthy place, we do require dogs and cats to be current on all their vaccinations. They also need to be free of fleas and ticks. If your pet needs to see us for their booster shots and wellness exam, be sure to schedule those first.
What is the Cost of Cat and Dog Grooming?
We’ll be happy to discuss your pet’s grooming needs in more detail so we can give you a proper cost estimate. Just give us a call at (270) 282-2564!
